This is a lithographic print drawn and printed by hand by Gino Castellanos. The work is a self portrait of the artist, and it’s a celebration of growth through hard work and diligence. As the artist, an immigrant, works and adapts to his new culture, a spiritual transformation occurs. The image is packed with symbolism that repeat throughout Gino’s body of work, and which serve to create an emerging language of meaning through visual emotion. The works seeks to serve as a reminder of the strength that comes to those who persevere, without coming across as cliched or preachy.
