Wendigo

Cursed by the dying breath of the companion they ate out of necessity , wendigo are men and women who wander in the woods forever, looking to satisfy their never-ending hunger for human flesh.
The myth of the Wendigo originated in Native American communities in North America. The Wendigo is seen as a malignant spirit born out of desperation and a desire to cling to life, even if it meant killing and eating your tribe to survive a harsh winter.
Cannibalism has always been taboo even amongst very primitive tribes, and it is believed that this creature is a sort of cautionary tale from more advanced communities against it, as well as to encourage moderation, selflessness, and proper preparation for winter.
