A figure crouches looking up. He lacks the edge to cut the rope that ties him to the flag that wounds him, which also impedes his movement. He’s grown wings, and his head no longer looks the same as it once was, but what use are these feathers to him, when he can’t seem to be able to take flight? The blood continues to pool at his feet. The flag continues to wave in the wind. The man remains stuck, unable to look back, unable to move forward.

This is a reduction woodcut on Birch plywood, and a result of research done on symbols and archetypes, as well as an exploration on feelings of belonging and being of a mixed cultural background.
